Wiki entry
*Personality:
Airachnid is a girl who loves to have fun, usually at the expense of other people. I don’t mean good wholesome fun either, I mean good ol’ fashioned torture and mutilation. One could say that Airachnid is a slightly vain lady of simple interests. If it screams, it interests her. This spider-like Decepticon is well-known for her cruelty, which is an accomplishment considering the number of cruel bots within the Decepticon ranks. Airachnid stands out because her level of sadism surpasses all others, and she’s very creative when it comes to dealing with her victims. While Airachnid can fight as well as any other, she prefers to use stealth and deception to snag her prey, in addition to that, she happens to be very resourceful, intelligent, and with a considerable amount of leadership skills, as Megatron set her as his Second in Command for a while, even after she tried to betray him that one time.
While Airachnid only ever looks out for number one (herself), that doesn’t mean she can’t play nice with others. Ever the survivalist, Airachnid will do whatever it takes and adapt to any situation if it means living for just one more day. She’s not above using her charm to win over potential allies, nor is she above threatening them with evisceration. Sometimes she does both. Hey, whatever works, right? Survivalist or not, Airachnid is also very ambitious, and adores having power when she has it. She doesn’t like to share glory (actually, she doesn’t like sharing at all), and will happily backstab a partner if it means getting it all for herself. In this sense, she’s said to be less trustworthy than Starscream. On a scale of 1-10, that pretty much sets her at a -5.
Airachnid is shown interacting with the crew without much difficulty, though all of them, including Megatron, were very aware of how dangerous she is. Despite being a favourite of Megatron’s for a while, the fact that she could not be cowed or beaten like Starscream was why Megatron decided he had no more use for her as his Second-in-Command. She’s far too independent, and Megatron couldn’t have that. Which was a pity, because Airachnid was perfectly fine with sucking up to him for however long she needed to to keep this power that she had.
Forgiveness is a virtue that is completely absent from Airachnid’s coding, along with charity, kindness, and... well, just about anything else really. Airachnid has very few redeeming points to her, and she’s well aware of that. Point is, Airachnid doesn’t forgive slights against her. Breakdown tried to kill her, so she went ahead and killed him. Megatron ordered Breakdown to kill her, so Airachnid devotes whatever resources she has into trying to assassinate the Decepticon leader. Jack (Arcee’s human pet) blew up her ship, so she decides to kidnap his mother and try to kill her after playing some headgames.
Then there’s Arcee. Airachnid’s relationship with Arcee is a very intense one that has more hate on Arcee’s part than hers. Airachnid loves that she is the cause of a lot of Arcee’s pain, and glories in it whenever she can. Whenever she sees the Autobot, she enjoys taunting and fighting her, doing whatever it takes to make Arcee feel helpless. It’s at the point where Airachnid will go out of her way to spite Arcee, for she finds it amusing that Arcee hates her so much that the Autobot will abandon all common sense and come after her no matter what. When Arcee appears, Airachnid will fight her, they are arch enemies after all. Airachnid respects Arcee’s abilities though, and won’t take her on if Arcee has the upper hand. Don’t get her wrong, she hates Arcee too. Arcee has this habit of getting in her way, after all, and that is very, very annoying. Also her pet human blew up her ship, and that’s really not cool. Seriously, they both have to pay for that.
*Powers/Abilities:
Do you hate spiders? Well good, she hates you too.
Burrowing:Using her legs, Airachnid can drill a hole in the ground in order to make a quick escape. Most sane bots wouldn’t bother going after her once she’s underground, since that’d be stupid.
Transformation: If escaping into the ground is out of the question, then Airachnid can transform into a helicopter in order to make an air getaway.
Acid spit: Her bite is every bit as terrible as her bark. Don’t let her bite or spit on you since both are very painful and potentially fatal.
Webs: Airachnid can shoot webs from her hands. Handy for trapping and disabling prey.
Heat vision: Apparently she has this too.
Bug control?: Airachnid has the ability to bring entire legions of Insecticons under her control.
Weapons: She has these too! Not that the other things aren’t, but having guns is very useful. As with her webs
*Inventory: Nothing!
*Starting Polarity: Heck if I know
If AU, how does your character differ from canon?: (Non AU apps may ignore this question. CRAUs and OAUs should get in to specifics here regarding what changes there are from their character's original canon. We'll need at least a paragraph explaining details.)
Writing Samples
*First Person Sample:
It would appear that someone has replaced a little… something.
[Airachnid smiles, blinking her optics innocently as she holds up what appears to be a severed head.]
If you want this back, then I think you should come and get it. Don’t worry, his death was a very swift one, which is what happens when you catch me by surprise. Now, if he had given me enough time, I certainly would have been able to make it hurt. I think I did a pretty good job though.
*Third Person Sample:
Airachnid loved her collection.
It was full of interesting things, things that she collected herself. As a woman of refined tastes, she only ever collected things that were rare. If they weren’t rare, then she had absolutely no problem with going out of her way and fixing that. Airachnid liked collecting creatures, organics mostly. They had a certain beauty to them, and she enjoyed the pain and helplessness in their eyes when they realized what she was about to do to them. Airachnid wasn’t hasty or impatient though, she wouldn’t kill her prey right away. She’d play with them first, chase them around until they couldn’t run any longer. Then she’d take them into her web and skillfully tortured them.
Oh how they’d scream.
Airachnid tried to push them as far as she could without killing them, it was an art she had perfected during the war. Dead things were nice, but they didn’t give her the same entertainment as living ones. Her victims would beg for her to stop, beg for her to end their lives. Now, Airachnid didn’t appreciate being told what to do, so the ones who begged her to end them usually ended up being left alive longer. They didn’t seem to understand that they were hers the moment they were trapped by her.
At exactly the right moment, she’d kill and preserve them. She liked looking at her collection and seeing their faces, so full of terror. Her trophies were hers, and she worked hard to get them. In fact, she probably liked her trophies more than she liked most people. Everyone else was so caught up in the war, and Airachnid really couldn’t be bothered. It was fun for a while, but even fighting can become monotonous and boring when the same scenarios play out over and over again.
She liked it on her own.
Final Notes: (Need to cover anything that hasn't already been covered? Use this spot. Or just ignore it if you've already gotten everything down.)
